ADULT SERVICES SUPERVISOR
The Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library, located in the capital city of Kansas, is seeking applications for a dynamic, energetic, and creative ADULT SERVICES SUPERVISOR.

The Adult Services Supervisor reports to the Public Services Manager. The essential job functions include: Manage and supervise daily operations and assist with tasks as needed, complete staff evaluations in a timely manner, implement policies and procedures, assist the Division Manager to prepare and submit unit budgets and reports and assist the Division Manager with hiring, evaluating, training and scheduling Adult Services staff and volunteers.
This position requires a Masters of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited university, one year of supervisory/management experience and three years experience in a related library setting. Desired qualifications include: strong knowledge and/or experience with reference sources and periodicals, knowledge of readers advisory and reference techniques, knowledge of collection development principles and practices and excellent reference skills and have a strong public service orientation.
The Library is committed to making a difference in the community serving a population of 160,000 with a total budget of $14 million, a staff of 200 and over 85,000 registered borrowers. The Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library is comprised of a Main Library and two Bookmobiles and an Adventure Mobile for children.
Topeka, the capital city of Kansas, is located on I-70 linking Kansas City (70 miles east), the University of Kansas-Lawrence (20 miles east), Washburn University-Topeka and Kansas State University-Manhattan (50 miles west). Topeka has a stable economy and very good housing at affordable costs.
The starting salary is $40,976. Excellent benefits, including BCBS health/dental, retirement and cafeteria plan, with 22 days vacation and 12 days sick leave.
