We offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, service-oriented librarian to join an outstanding library which has a vital, central role in supporting the academic and scholarly endeavors of students and faculty in a private university consistently recognized through rankings in the top tier of the country's finest liberal arts institutions.
Head of Reference and Information Literacy: Manages reference department. Coordinates, implements, promotes and serves as lead instructor for information literacy program, including credit-bearing information literacy course. Coordinates virtual reference service. Provides user instruction for students, faculty and university community and prepares related instructional materials. Provides reference services and research assistance for disciplines served by the library. May have subject specific bibliographer responsibilities. Required: Bachelors degree in a liberal arts discipline. Masters degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program. At least five years experience in academic library reference department. Additional Qualifications Desired: Masters degree in a liberal arts discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
Along with 6 other professionals, this position shares reference desk and virtual reference responsibilities, including evening and weekend rotations; participates in outreach, marketing, assessment and other library initiatives; and conducts computer training and orientation for students and faculty.
