    We offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, service-oriented librarian to join an outstanding library which has a vital, central role in supporting the academic and scholarly endeavors of students and faculty in a private university consistently recognized through rankings in the top tier of the country's finest liberal arts institutions. Reference Librarian, Arts: Serves as the library’s liaison and subject specialist for the arts in the undergraduate College and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Selects materials in arts disciplines including studio art, art history, theatre and dance for the library collection. Provides user instruction for the students, faculty and university community, teaches credit-bearing information literacy course, and prepares related instructional materials. Provides reference services, research assistance, and library instruction in the arts and other disciplines served by the library. Required: Bachelor’s degree in art history or theatre history. Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program. Additional Qualifications Desired: Master’s degree in one of the arts disciplines. Academic library experience with art history emphasis. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Along with 6 other professionals, this position shares reference desk and virtual reference responsibilities, including evening and weekend rotations; participates in outreach, marketing, assessment and other library initiatives; and conducts computer training and orientation for students and faculty.
