Texas A&M University Medical Sciences Library (MSL) seeks a dynamic and energetic recent graduate or new professional who is looking for the opportunity to build technical services and collection development skills as well as leadership and management skills.
Position Scope: This faculty position has broad based responsibilities in technical services and collection development. Coordinates, participates in and facilitates activities in acquisitions, cataloging, serials and collection development. Provides intellectual leadership in all these areas through participation in the management team that guides Resources Management Services operations. Reports to the Deputy Director.
Required: ALA accredited MLS or MIS; willingness to be flexible and a creative problem solver; ability to work collaboratively; excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills; strong written and oral communication skills; excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills; ability to work collaboratively; ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments; working knowledge of integrated library systems, computer networking and protocols and web technologies and tools. Preferred: AHIP membership; experience in a health science library environment or related subject responsibilities in an academic or special library; knowledge of medical, veterinary or life sciences literature; familiarity with licensing and copyright issues.
