Position Title: Capital Planning and Implementation Officer
PM 5
Location: Copley
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Salary range: $50,671 $68,404, DOQ.
Basic Function: Under limited direction, provides leadership for the Capital Planning and Implementation efforts of Library facilities construction and renovation projects. Includes primary responsibility for the planning, development, oversight, and completion of library capital construction projects.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of the municipal capital process; Working understanding of building systems, construction practices, and construction and contract management practices; Project management skills; Knowledge of financial planning processes and expenditure tracking; Knowledge of fundraising and the development process; Familiarity with Bostons neighborhoods; Understanding of the public library mission, structure and services; Knowledge of the librarys multiple user groups; Strong interpersonal skills; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Detail oriented; Computer skills: email, word processing, spreadsheet and project management; Facilitation skills; Demonstrated leadership skills; Ability to take initiative, to be tactful, and to be dependable; Willingness to work in a team environment
Education Requires a BA or BS degree from an accredited undergraduate Institution. MLS preferred.
Experience Requires 5-10 years of significantly responsible capital construction/project management experience, preferably including library construction project and/or facilities management.
