    Responsibilities: As a member of the reference staff, this position will provide proactive reference and research support to the law college faculty, students, members of the practicing bar and other patrons of the Alvin E. Evans Law Library. Reference service includes participation in the Library’s faculty liaison program, compilation of traditional bibliographies, webliographies, user guides, and the provision of bibliographic instruction. This position requires reference desk hours including participation in the evening and weekend rotation. All reference librarians will be involved in a virtual legal reference service pilot project. As part of the first year curriculum, reference librarians have the opportunity to teach in the Introduction to Legal Research course on an overload basis. Reference librarians also provide Lexis, Westlaw and other on-line database instruction. Qualifications: J.D. degree from an ABA approved law school and MLS from an ALA accredited institution. Familiarity with legal materials, including law and law related on-line databases; strong service orientation; excellent oral and written communication skills. Evidence of ability to meet University of Kentucky requirements for promotion and tenure. Law Library experience highly desirable.
