    The Technical Services Supervisor reports to the Public Services Manager. The essential job functions include: plan and implement the allocation of material selection funds based on collection development plan, evaluation of collections and recommended goals. Analyze collections and supervise the development and maintenance of library collections. Ensure that all collection additions and deletions are handled appropriately concerning the holdings database. Manage and supervise daily operations and assist with tasks as needed, complete staff evaluations in a timely manner, implement policies and procedures, assist the Division Manager to prepare and submit unit budgets and reports and assist the Division Manager with hiring, evaluating, training and scheduling staff and volunteers. This position requires a Masters of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited university, one year of supervisory/management experience, three years progressively responsible experience working with materials selection and development in public libraries and knowledge of collection development principles and practices. Desired qualifications include: knowledge and/or experience with reference sources and periodicals and knowledge of readers’ advisory and reference techniques.
