    ENGINEERING LIBRARIAN Miami University Libraries are seeking a self-motivated, creative, client-centered librarian who is knowledgeable about information technology, emerging trends and scholarly communication innovations in the scientific literature. The candidate should also demonstrate evidence of ability to meet Miami University Libraries requirements for promotion and continuing contract. http://staff.lib.muohio.edu/~bbarr/personnel/04_5_28_LARPS_updates.pdf Reporting to the Head of the Science Library, the Engineering Librarian serves as the Liaison to the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences with primary responsibility for providing consultation, reference, collection management, and instructional services to the departments within the School. Subject areas included are manufacturing and mechanical engineering, computer science and computer engineering, systems analysis, electrical engineering, chemical and environmental engineering and paper science and engineering. The School Of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Miami University is rapidly expanding its undergraduate and graduate programs, faculty and student body. The School will be moving to a new facility in 2006. We are seeking a librarian with the vision and leadership to provide library services in new and diverse ways and who will help shape 21st century library services and products. We are seeking an individual who is committed to providing outreach to the user community and to developing strong partnerships with faculty and students. In addition to providing service to the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, the Librarian will also be responsible for developing and teaching credit/non credit courses or workshops for the University community and participating in a variety of Library-wide initiatives, projects and teams. Required: Masters degree from an ALA-accredited program; an enthusiasm for outreach and marketing; web development skills; the ability to utilize new and emerging technologies in the design and delivery of library services and products; commitment to public service; and demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-centered environment. Highly Desirable: Course work, degree or academic or corporate library experience in an engineering, computer science, or physical sciences field. Demonstrated instruction skills. Experience with designing and promoting instructional classes and materials incorporating technology and information literacy.
