Radford University seeks an accomplished, customer service oriented, and enthusiastic Coordinator of Public Services to ensure the provision of high quality reference, instructional, circulation, media, archival, and interlibrary loan services to the academic community and others who interact with the library. The Coordinator provides creative leadership and vision for Public Services including planning and policy development. Manages Public Services’ activities and operations, supervises four department heads (Reference/Instruction, Circulation, Media, and Interlibrary Loan), and provides direction and leadership to Public Services. Provides leadership and support to Public Services departments in the effective use of the Innovative library system, ILLiad, and other technologies. Participates in planning, developing, and evaluating library services and programs as a member of the Library Administrative Council. Position reports to the University Librarian. Library faculty are twelve-month, non-tenured professional faculty with academic rank and responsibilities for collection development, university service, and professional development/contributions. QUALIFICATIONS: Required: ALA-accredited Masters in Library/Information Science. Substantial experience in academic library reference/instruction or circulation, with knowledge of interlibrary loan. Excellent supervising, planning, organizational, and analytical skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively. Demonstrated initiative and ability to adapt in a changing work environment. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Preferred: Thorough knowledge of reference, circulation, interlibrary loan services and practices. Familiarity with current information technologies and their applications. Demonstrated successful leadership skills.
