Florida International University Libraries invites applications for the position of Health Sciences Librarian. This position is part of the Reference and Instructional Services Department of the Green Library at the University Park Campus.
Position Description: As a member of the Reference and Instructional Services team, the successful candidate will provide general, specialized, and virtual reference assistance, participate in the librarys information literacy and library instruction programs, and participate in the activities and projects of the Department. The incumbent will serve as faculty liaison to the health science programs, and will assist the Associate Director for Collection Management in projects such as collection assessment, program reviews, and accreditation documentation. Evening and weekend hours may be required on a rotating basis.
Required Qualifications: An MLS from an ALA accredited program; two or more years of professional library experience; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; and service commitment.
Preferred Qualifications: Degree or substantial coursework in an aspect of Health Sciences or related discipline, or appropriate experience in Health Sciences; experience in reference services, group instruction and collection management; knowledge and experience with information technologies and web authoring software.
Rank/Salary: Assistant, Associate, or University Librarian rank; salary $38,000-60,000 commensurate with education, experience, and rank of appointment. Librarians have 12-month non-tenured faculty appointments.
Benefits: 22 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, TIAA/CREF or other retirement options, usual health/life insurance options, no state or local income tax.

Together with the library of the Biscayne Bay Campus, the collections total more than 1.6 million volumes with subscriptions to more than 15,000 scholarly journals.
